Georgia Walton

Georgia Ann Walton was born in Clay County, AL on March 7, 1934 to parents Robert Wood and Argusta McCollough Wood. Georgia was one of thirteen children born to this union. Georgia accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and united with New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Clay County, Alabama. She received her formal education in the Clay County School System. Georgia worked various jobs including the dry cleaners and as a driver for Georgia Auction. She retired from Ft. McPherson Army Base as a shipping clerk. Georgia was married to the late James L. Walton, Sr. and they were blessed with four sons. After retirement, Georgia lived her best life going fishing, playing crossword puzzles, watching westerns, with her favorite being, "Gunsmoke", and last, but not least, she enjoyed watching "The Steve Harvey Show". Georgia will truly be missed; may she rest in peace. Georgia is predeceased by her son, Clayton Walton, daughter, Willie Jean Walton, parents, Robert Wood and Argusta McCollough Wood, four sisters Mary Patton, Della Wood, Betty Hughley and Bobbie Jean Wood, three brothers, Jasper Wood, Charles Wood and Thomas Wood and two grandsons, Derrick Walton and Randy DeWayne Pearson. Georgia leaves to cherish all her loving memories: her sons, James (Alfreda) Walton, Randy Walton and Gary (Phyllis) Walton; one brother, Robert Wood, Jr.; four sisters, Ether Smith, Nalena Walton, Zettie Wood and Judy Wood; nine grandchildren, Cheryl Walton, Kelvin Walton, Kynodiuos Walton, Yaket Moore, Kita Terrace, Gary Harris, Tre'von Harris, Princess Walton and Shameka Brunson; and a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
