Edith Crawford

Sis. Edith (Shack) Crawford was born to the parentage of the late Mr. Joe Armbrester and the late Mother Helen Shack on November 5, 1959, in Talladega Alabama. Edith received her education in the Talladega School System and attended Westside School. Several years later she relocated to Brooklyn, NY, with her mother and attended Bed-Stuy East Middle School and Halsey High School. Edith remained in Brooklyn, NY for several years. While living in Brooklyn, her first child, Karena Janelle Shack, was born. After moving back to Talladega, AL, she gave birth to her second child, Joseph Lorenzo Shack. On November 16, 2006, in Miami, FL, Edith was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. George Daniel Crawford. She returned home with her loving husband George and became a member of the Miracle Prayer House Cathedral, Inc., where the pastor is also her sister, Apostle Dr. Margaret McDill. She received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and became a great witness for the Lord, remaining a faithful member until the Lord called her home. Her greatest joy was being a blessing to her Pastor, her family and the Miracle Prayer House Cathedral family. She departed this life on October 29, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was proceeded in death by her grandmother, Mother Carrie Stone, her mother, Ms. Helen Shack and father, Mr. Joe Armbrester, two sisters, Vera Shack James and Willie Ruth Shack, and one brother Ralph Stone. She leaves a lifetime of love and memories to forever be cherished by her daughter, Karena Janelle Shack and her son, Joseph Lorenzo Shack, both of Anniston, AL; her pastor and sister, Apostle Dr. Margaret McDill of Anniston, AL; four grandchildren, Nathan Ezekiel Shack, Uniqua Chantae Shack, Jamequa Alize McCord, and Messiah Moore, all of Anniston, AL; four great-grandchildren, Valerie Ball, Jewel Shack, Promise Thornton and Kingston Shack, all of Anniston, AL; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Edith Crawford will be remembered for her kind spirit and the joy she brought into the lives of others. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
