Eddie Wilson

October 9, 1953 - April 26, 2022

Mr. Eddie Wilson, Sr. was born in Talladega, Alabama on October 9, 1953 to the parentage of Arthur Wilson, Sr. and Ada Mae Atchison Wilson. As a youth, Eddie attended Peace Missionary Baptist Church and was educated in the Talladega City School System at Westside School before leaving to attend Job Corps. Once returning home, Eddie was employed by Tyson/Koch Foods for several years before retiring. On September 10, 1975, Eddie welcomed his first born, Eddie Wilson, Jr. Later in life, on July 6, 1996, he married his soulmate, Kem Wilson, and to this union two children were conceived, De'Andre and Shantanique. Eddie loved his family, and he was an avid sports fan. The Alabama Crimson Tide was his team. He was truly a die-hard Alabama fan, but he also loved watching his two favorite NFL teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles. Baseball is another story for Mr. Eddie.... he has always loved and cheered on his Atlanta Braves baseball team. Eddie was known by his family for being a great cook. He enjoyed cooking and entertaining his family and friends. Eddie will definitely be missed by all who loved him. On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, while under the care of Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama, Eddie's 68-year earthly journey was traded for eternal rest. Preceding him in death was his parents, Arthur Wilson, Sr. and Ada Mae Atchison Wilson, two brothers, Arthur Wilson, Jr. and Levi Wilson and one sister, Susie Ann Scales. Eddie leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Kem Wilson, two sons, Eddie (Alisa) Wilson, Jr. of Talladega and De'Andre (Aishia) Wilson of Tuscaloosa, AL; one daughter, Shantanique Wilson of Talladega; three sisters, Ola Mae (James) Croom of Albion, MI, Linda (Cleveland) Wilson and Lillian Wilson both of Talladega; one brother, Jack Wilson of Talladega; two grandsons, Fabeon (Myisha) Morris of Sylacauga and Isaiah Morris of Talladega; one great-grandson, Ja'Braven Morris; a special cousin, Tommy Lee Hawkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
