Dwight Harmon Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dwight Harmon "Doody Man" was born on July 23, 1962, to Mr. Willie Lee and Catherine Reynolds-Harmon in Talladega, Alabama. At an early age, Dwight received Christ and joined New Maryland Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated in the Talladega County School system. Dwight was a free spirit at heart. When he was born, the doctor told his mother she was going to have her hands full because he was the seventh child of seven children and born in the seventh month. He loved moving around and could not stay in one place for long. His family says that is why he never married or had children. Dwight, affectionately known by many as "Doody Man" was a loving son, brother and if you earned his friendship, you had a friend for life. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews as well as the work he did at Rocky Ridge Retirement Home in Hoover. If he thought about you, he was going to call no matter the time day or night. Dwight loved his family, and he is already missed by his family, friends, and all the lives he has touched throughout his 60-year earthly journey. Dwight transitioned from this life to a peaceful rest on the night of August 4, 2022, at Grandview Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his parents Willie and Catherine Harmon; maternal grandparents, Luther and Nadie Duncan, Sr. and Hardy and Surloner Reynolds, Sr.; paternal grandparents Willie Garrett and Mary Chatman as well as many aunts and uncles. He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his two sisters, Willie Ann Jackson (Haywood), of Alpine, AL and Nadine Ballard (Billy) of Ashland, AL; four brothers, John Duncan, of Birmingham, AL, Michael Harmon (Annie), of Winterboro, AL, Oscar Harmon (Barbara), of Anniston, AL, and Richard Harmon (Mary Ann) of Talladega, AL; seven aunts; one uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and special friends he made on his job, Brandi, Paula, and Chris.
