Clarence Story

Clarence Story, age 79, departed from this life peacefully on February 13, 2026, in the comfort of his home with his loving wife at his side. A beloved husband, brother, and uncle, Clarence's spirit will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew him. Born on May 5, 1946, in Talladega County, Clarence was the cherished son of Willie T. Storey and Henrietta Miller Storey. From an early age, he embraced his faith, accepting Christ at Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church-a foundation that guided his life with grace and conviction. A proud graduate of Ophelia S. Hill Memorial High School in Munford, Alabama, Class of 1964, Clarence ventured to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he sought to carve out a promising future. This journey led him to a distinguished career at the United News Transportation Company, where he dedicated over 25 years to the Books and Newspaper Department. His firm commitment and excellence in service earned him multiple awards, a testament to his work ethic and passion. In a beautiful turn of fate, Clarence found love in the arms of Brenda Sue Morris, marrying her after his well-deserved retirement. Together, they returned to Alabama, where he joyfully reunited with his church family and remained a devoted member of his congregation until health challenges arose. Clarence was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Willie and Henrietta Storey; his sister, Linda Lawson; his brother, Howard Storey; and his nephew, William Storey. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. His memory will be lovingly carried on by his devoted wife, Brenda Story; one bonus daughter, Alisia Morris; two grandsons, Fabeon (Myisha) Morris and Isaiah Mekhi Morris; and two great-grandsons, Ja'Braven Morris and Donterius Swain. He is also survived by his bonus son, Kevin Kendrick; his sisters, Willie Frances Reed of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Ernestine Ragland and Marilyn Elston of Talladega, Alabama; along with a host of nieces and nephews who will hold him forever in their hearts. As we gather to honor the life of Clarence, we remember a man of faith, love, and laughter. Let us celebrate a life well-lived, reflecting on the warmth of his spirit and the kindness he shared-a legacy that will endure through all those whose lives he touched. May Clarence's soul find eternal peace, and may we carry forward the light he brought into the world.
