May 26, 1967 - October 20, 2021
On May 26, 1967 in Lincoln, Alabama, Mrs. Annette Threatt and the late Mr. Anthony Threatt gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Carla. Carla was a true servant of the Lord, and it was proven throughout her earthly journey. At an early age, Carla united with Holy Hill Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Lincoln, Alabama. She received her formal education in the Talladega County School System and was a graduate of Lincoln High School Class of 1985 where she was a dedicated member of the Lincoln High School Marching Band with her instrument of choice being the saxophone. Carla was such an enthusiastic and fun-loving person, with a contagious personality. Upon completing her formal education, Carla decided to further her education by enrolling at Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama where she was a member of the Alabama State Hornets Marching Band and would later receive her bachelor's degree in Business and Accounting. After Carla relocated to Montgomery, Alabama, she united with Christian Life Church, continued serving the Lord and keeping God first and foremost in her life. She found much strength and her spiritual knowledge and faith were increased through her church home. She also was a member of the church choir and served as the saxophonist for the church. Her life was her family. She loved having her family around her and seeing them happy is what drove her and motivated her in life. Carla was an accountant for Regions Bank and was pursuing her Master's degree at Auburn University in Montgomery at the time of her demise. Carla was a people person and she enjoyed decorating and traveling. She genuinely cared about any and every person she encountered, all along the way touching people's lives in some way, shape or form. Carla left an impression on every person she met. She loved life and was grateful for every moment she had of it. She had a beautiful and bright smile that would light up the darkest room. Carla really enjoyed being a part of a church family. Carla was the definition of a loving daughter and sister. She will truly be missed by all the hearts she touched and joy she brought to everyone she encountered. In the early morning hour of Wednesday, October 20, 2021, while in the comfort of her home under the care of Amedysis Hospice, Carla serenely gained her heavenly wings and transitioned to her eternal home on high when she heard the call of her Master saying, "Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant". Carla was preceded in death by her father, Sgt. Anthony Threatt, grandparents, Grover and Hazel Suttle, aunt, Bettye Ann Suttle, and uncles, J.D. Suttle, Jerry Suttle, Grover Suttle, Jr., and Thomas Suttle. To honor and to cherish her memory, she leaves a loving, caring, and devoted mother, Mrs. Annette Threatt, sister, Tiffany D.
