    Brenda A Hawkins

    May 11, 1957 - January 22, 2022

    Ms. Brenda Miller Hawkins, 64, was born on May 11, 1957 to the late Woodrow and Georgia Ann Miller in Sulligent, Alabama. At an early age, Brenda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She received her formal education in the Etowah County School System. Brenda later moved to Florida but returned to Gadsden seven years ago to assist with caring for her sister. She worked as a machinist in the manufacturing industry and later a picker in the orange orchards. Brenda enjoyed walking and loved to eat with Church's Chicken being her favorite restaurant. Brenda's life journey was completed on January 22, 2022 when she answered her Master's call for eternal rest while under the care of Coosa Valley Healthcare in Gadsden, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Hawkins and parents, Woodrow and Georgia Ann Miller. Brenda's memories will forever be remembered and cherished by her daughters, Judy Miller Mackey of Gadsden, Alabama and Jina Miller of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters, Lucy (Alfred) Wyatt, Walanda Mackey and Betty R. (George) Moore-Williams of Gadsden, Alabama, Raydean (Joe) Dearson of Richmond, Kentucky, Gearldine (Homer) Bailey and Stella (John) Williams of Fort Pierce, Florida, and Cynthia L. (Ronnie) Sims of Palm Bay, Florida; brothers, Woodrow (Marie) Miller of Bronx, New York, Melvin Wilson of Jacksonville, Florida, Allen (Josephine) Wilson of Jacksonville, Florida, Mose Wilson of Summerville, Georgia, Eddie (Estella) Miller of Gadsden, Alabama, Michael (Peggy) Miller, James Miller, and Bobby Miller of Fort Pierce, Florida; two grandchildren, Javon D. Blanton of Fort Pierce, Florida and Jalian A. Mackey of Gadsden, Alabama; two great-grandchildren Emmanuel Blanton of Fort Pierce, Florida and Arnashia Miller of Ocala, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
