Bertha Jones

November 1, 1934 - January 18, 2022

Ms. Bertha Lee Cross was born on November 1, 1934, in Talladega, Alabama. She was born to the union of Mr. Riska Cross and Catherine Cross. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Bethel Baptist Church, where she served the Lord in her faith. She met and married Willie James Jones and from that union 8 children were born. On January 18, 2022, early Tuesday morning the Lord called this beautiful Angel home. She was surrounded by her loving children. Her gift of strength that was given by God was powerful and allowed her not to give up. She desired to be with Jesus as she grew tired. She fought a good fight, finished her course, and kept the faith. Preceding her in death are her parents, Riska and Catherine Cross, her beloved husband, Willie James Jones; son, Randy Jones, grandsons, Juan D. Cross and Canden Toran Kelton, siblings, Joseph Cross, Ernest James Cross, Nelson Cross, Lee Cross, and her beloved sister, Eloise Fomby. Cherishing her precious memories are her children: Ronalda Cross, Willie (Angie) Cross, Annette Thrower, Apostle Sandra (Pastor Frank) Kelton, Roger N. Jones, Carla Jones, and Paul J. Jones. She has twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, one brother Thomas Swain and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Goddaughters, in-laws, and friends.
