Bernice Roberson
August 22, 1953 - April 15, 2022
Mrs. Bernice Phillips Roberson was born on August 22, 1953, to the late Charles and Louise Melton Phillips in Bowden County, Georgia. Bernice confessed Christ at an early age and united with 17th Street Baptist Church in Anniston, Alabama and later united with Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church where she was a truthful servant of God serving faithfully until her health began to fail. She loved her church family and loved serving the Lord. She received her formal education from Alabama School for the Blind in Talladega, Alabama and worked many years at Alabama Industries for the Deaf and Blind until retirement. Most of all, Bernice was a devoted mother and friend to many. In addition to loving her family and friends, Bernice loved watching television, reading her braille Bible, listening to church music and reading her Sunday School book. On Friday, April 15, 2022, after God had graciously given Bernice to us for sixty-eight earthly years, he felt it was time for her to serenely close her eyes one last time to this earthly world, accept her new wings and fly to her eternal home joining all her loved ones that had preceded her in death including her parents, Charles and Louise Phillips, husband, Jimmy Lee Roberson, brother, Ray Charles Phillips and nephew, Varrick Ellis. She leaves to cherish her loving memories; two sons, Jimmy Roberson and Andrew Roberson; brother, Bobby Phillips; two sisters, Eva (Hondrea) Lewis and Gloria Jean Ellis; eight nieces and nephews, Martin Hughes, Negretta Hughes, Constance Hughes, Zabrina Ellis, Carlos Ellis, Wayne Long, Chris Phillips and Tony Phillips; special family friend, Beatrice Dates; special cousins, Cynthia, Mary, Jereline, Wanda and Elaine; and a host of other relatives and friends.
