Arthaniel Weed

Mr. Arthaniel Stanley Weed, a cherished husband, devoted father, beloved brother, and steadfast friend, transitioned to his eternal rest on March 26, 2026, at Brookwood Citizen's Baptist Medical Center, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 3, 1966, to the late Article Wills and Mae Francis Weed in Talladega, Alabama, Arthaniel was a beacon of light and a true man of God. From an early age, Arthaniel embraced his faith, joining Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church before becoming an integral part of Mt. Zion Worship Center, where he served with strong dedication. His love for his church and community was evident in every action, whether it was lending a hand to those in need or sharing his culinary talents as a chef. Renowned for his cooking, he catered countless family and community events, delighting all with his flavorful creations. Arthaniel was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School, where his roots in Talladega's rich community only deepened. After completing his education, He dedicated many years to working in environmental services as a custodian, where his diligent spirit and attention to detail made a lasting impact on those he served. Throughout his life, he was a great leader, a supportive husband to Jacquelyn, and a proud father to his son, Dion. He delighted in the simple joys, such as cheering for his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide and celebrating the achievements of his family, particularly his sister's vocal group, "Voices of Tomorrow." As we reflect on the immense legacy left by Arthaniel, we find comfort in the love he shared and the countless memories he created with those around him. He rejoices now with his dearly departed parents, Artice Wills and Mae Francis Weed, brother, Jimmie Lee Weed, and sisters, Carolyn Weed, Darlene Weed, Itelia Weed, and Joann Weed, having answered the Master's call with grace and faith. As we release him back to the arms of the heavens, the spirit of his legacy forever alive in our hearts. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Mr. Weed leaves behind his loving wife, Jacquelyn Tucker Weed; son, Dion Lamar Weed; and a host of beloved siblings, including brothers Marcus Weed, Terrance (Alicia) Weed, Daryl (Kesia) Hunter, Derrick Hunter, and Riccardo Woodard; sisters Patricia Hill, Virginia White, Vetina Weed, LaShonda (Bruce) Garrett, Alma Woodard, Doretha Wills, Debra Wills, Delores (Johnny Ray) Allen, and Syvetlana English; along with a stepmother, Eunice Wills; Godmother, Sadie Britt; aunt, Joann Johnson Fomby and Georgia Bell; special nephews, Jy'Mir, and LaQuez; special niece, Kayla; Godchildren, Drucilla Weed, Piarol Brown, Dominique Trammell, Sanyia Weed, Jayden Curry, Abril, and Jonathan; God sisters, Tara Curry, Polly Hunt, and Dean Turner; brothers-in-law, John Williams and Greg Horton; sisters-in-law, Joann Horton and Debbie Williams; special friends, Jaleesa Keith and James Beavers; and a multitude of relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory. Though Arthaniel is no longer with us in body, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched, the community he served, and the family he adored. May he rest in eternal peace.
