Willie Richardson

Mr. Willie Richardson was born to parents Floyd Richardson and Mildred Estelle Keith on April 5, 1946, in Talladega, Alabama. Willie accepted Christ at an early age and united with Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a true servant of the Lord. He continuously worked in his vineyard until his health declined. Willie held several positions in the church including Sunday School teacher, member of the male chorus, deacon, and caretaker of the cemetery. He was educated in the Talladega County School System where he was a graduate of R.R. Moton High School. Willie worked for over 35 years in the textile industry at Crown Textile and Avondale Mills as an inspector. Then he began working in environmental services as the custodian for Eden Elementary School and Citizens Baptist Hospital. He was affectionately known to family and friends as "Teddy." If you knew Teddy, you knew he was a funny, sweet, and caring Christian person. He enjoyed reading and studying his Bible, playing his guitar, shopping at Walmart, and thrift shopping for bargains. He never met a stranger, and you knew he was in your presence just by hearing his loud, distinct voice. He also liked watching westerns and Alabama football. Teddy was a true character full of humor and always kept people laughing. He would talk to anybody or anything that would talk back. As Teddy traveled this journey of 76 years, he was loved by many, not least of all his wife Annette Hill Richardson and his children LaShelia, Keyvontey, and Neveah. Teddy loved his family and enjoyed entertaining and spending quality time with them. On Sunday morning, January 29, 2023, while in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones, God called Teddy from labor to eternal rest joining his parents, Floyd Richardson and Mildred Keith, brothers, Paul Keith and Van Keith, and sisters, Katie Keith, and Rita Keith. His memories will remain in the hearts of his loving and devoted wife, Annette Richardson; daughters, LaShelia (Thomas) Brown and Neveah Richardson; son, Keyvontey Richardson; two grandchildren, Thomas Avery Brown and Analeigh Karis Brown; two brothers, Wren Keith, Jr. and Frankie Keith; three sisters, Nancy Keith, Sammie Kate Richardson, and Peggy Miles; special cousins, Betty Alford, George T. Richardson, Chester Richardson, Frank Richardson, and Kathy Lawson; and a host of other family and friends.
