Willie Payton Hall

Willie P. Hall was born on May 2, 1954 at Citizen's Hospital in Talladega, Alabama to the late Mr. John Cooper Hall and the late Mrs. Ethel Lee Suttle Bradford Hall. Mr. Willie confessed Christ at an early age when he united with Pine Grove C.M.E. Church in Eastaboga, Alabama where he was a member of the choir, CYF, and usher board. He was educated in the Talladega County School System, where he attended Salem Elementary School of Eastaboga, Alabama, Charles R. Drew School in Lincoln, Alabama, Eastaboga Junior High School in Eastaboga, and later graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1973. While in school, Willie worked several jobs including: a bus driver during the day and Avondale Cotton Plant at night. He also worked for Clow Piping in Lincoln, Alabama. After completing high school, Willie was employed with several more companies including Morrison Cafeteria in Oxford, AL, a truck driver, and for Crawford Jinks and Jim Pace at Colony House Motel in Talladega. Willie later worked for over 25 years as a custodian and ground keeper. After leaving those jobs, he journeyed on to Hurron Valley in Anniston, Alabama for Mr. Griffin. His work journey continued with Joe Turner and Ron Kimberly where he worked for both guys as the handy man. Willie always kept him a job where he did what he wanted to do. And they all loved Willie!! Willie was a Jack of All Trade!!!! He worked until he was involved in a car accident with his boss where he became disabled in June of 2015!! After recovering from his accident, he earned the job of becoming a guard at his residence where he sat faithfully daily waving and watching the cars pass up and down the highway until his passing. Willie enjoyed fishing, hanging out and visiting friends. He was well known for traveling many cities in the Calhoun County area including Eastaboga, Bynum, Hobson City, South Anniston, and Anniston, but you could sometimes catch him on Jackson Trace in Talladega. Willie was a sweetie and will be missed dearly. On Thursday afternoon, May 18, 2023 at 3:40 p.m. Willie answered his Master's call at Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama while surrounded by love ones. We thank God for loaning Willie to us for 69 years. God felt it was time for him to peacefully close his eyes one last time to this earthly world and accept his new heavenly wings and fly to his eternal home joining his beloved mother Mrs. Ethel Hall, father, Mr. John Cooper Hall, beloved sisters, Minnie Lemon, Earnestine Hall, Eva Dell Campbell, Shirley Ann Hall, Norfletter McDaniel, and Janice Lynn Hall, and three beloved brothers, Joe Louis Bradford, Robert James (Bobby) Bradford, and John Arthur Hall. Willie leaves to cherish his memories, one brother, Mr. Bill Joe (Ann) Brock of Birmingham, AL; six beautiful beloved sisters, Mrs. Eartha Dean (Edward) Miller of Bynum, AL, Mrs. Emma Jean Johnson of Central City, AL, Mrs. Yvonne Roberts of Riverdale, GA, his sister and caregiver, Mrs. Charlotte Vanessa Hall (Mark) of Eastaboga, AL, Mrs. Sandra Diane Hall (Bobby) of Anniston, AL, and Mrs. Paula Lockhart of Lithonia, GA; two beloved brothers/nephews, Mr. Earl Bright (Lucretia) Hall of Gainesville, FL and Mr. Walter Keith (Priscilla) Hall of Rex, GA; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Willie unconditionally, beloved great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of dearly beloved cousins and friends. Willie had a great-great nephew who was also his great little caregiver, Mr. Tiwan Hall, Jr. Uncle Willie was known by his nieces and nephews as their delivery driver and will be missed immensely.
