William "Tommy" Hearn

Born on August 8, 1953, in Talladega, Alabama, William was a beloved son of Vacher Hearn, Sr. and Everlena Lane Hearn. At a young age, William embraced his faith and became a member of Mt. Zebulon Holiness Church. He received his education through the Talladega City School System, culminating in his graduation from Talladega High School. His thoughtful approach to life led him into a fruitful career that included roles as a supervisor at Crown Textile and Avondale Mills, and he later flourished at Honda Manufacturing as a painter. William dedicated the latter part of his career to the Anniston Army Depot, where he retired to enjoy part-time work at Home Depot. William, affectionately identified as "Tommy" by his family and friends, was known for his profound love of the outdoors, skillfully tending to his gardens and earning a reputation as an exceptional horticulturist. He was also a passionate craftsman and landscaper, earning him the affectionate nickname, "The Jack of ALL TRADES and the MASTER OF ALL." His culinary skills were legendary amongst family and friends, as he embraced his role as the self-proclaimed Grill Master. In this beautiful journey of life, William found the love of his life in the former Ms. Diane Kelly. Their union, spanning over 40 years, was a testament to love, commitment, and partnership, and their bond remains unbreakable. William was deeply devoted to his family, always going the extra mile to ensure their happiness and well-being. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose legacy of love will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. On Sunday, March 30, 2025 while under the care of Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama surrounded by his beloved family, Mr. William "Tommy" Hearn answered the Master's call saying "Well Done Good and Faithful Servant, because you have been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many, enter thee into the joy of thy Lord" to join your parents, Vacher and Everlena Hearn and daughter, Onita Rowe. Precious memories will forever be cherished by his loving and devoted wife, Diane Hearn; three sons, Tommy D. (Deisha) Kelly, Kever Kelly, and Royce T. (Taquita) Kelly; bonus daughter, Sakia Allen; sister, Eula H. (Earnest) Stephens; two brothers, Vacher (Evelyn) Hearn, Jr. and Frankie (Pearalee) Hearn; brothers-in-law, John T. (Abbie) Morris, Frank (Sharon) Morris, Steve Kelly, and Timothy Keith; sisters-in-law, Jo Ann Keith, Dorothy Kelly, Virginia Lawler, Diane Funderburg, Lisa (John) Twymon, Sandra Morris, and Darlene Morris; loyal friend, Calvin Twymon; fourteen grandchildren; and a multitude of cousins, other relatives, and friends. As we gather to reflect upon and celebrate the life of this remarkable man, let us remember the laughter, love, and lessons he imparted. Though he has joined his parents and daughter in eternal rest, the spirit of William Tommy Hearn will forever live on in the heartfelt memories he leaves behind. May he rest in peace, and may his legacy of love and craftsmanship inspire us all.
