Mr. William Cunningham

Born on November 30, 1949, in Talladega, Alabama, Mr. William Cunningham was the son of the late Mr. Alphonso Cunningham and the late Mrs. Velma Groce Cunningham. Growing up in Talladega, he developed a strong sense of community and a work ethic that would guide him throughout his life. Mr. Cunningham's passion for fixing things led him to pursue a career as a mechanic, a field in which he excelled. He proudly served his country and later found fulfillment in his position at The Anniston Army Depot, where he retired after many years of dedicated service. Outside of work, Mr. Cunningham embraced life's simple joys. He loved spending quality time with his wife, Wanda "Bonnie" Cunningham, and their cherished children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether it was taking family vacations, playing pool, or hosting memorable gatherings, he touched the lives of those around him and created lasting memories. A man deeply connected to his faith; Mr. Cunningham was an active member of Wesley Chapel AME Zion Church. His commitment to his church community was unwavering until his health began to decline. His spirit will forever be remembered within the walls of the church he held dear. Mr. William E. Cunningham, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and respected member of the Talladega community peacefully departed this world on Friday, November 10, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Alphonso and Velma Cunningham, granddaughter, Reagan Cunningham, and great-grandson, Jeremiah Curry. Mr. Cunningham memories will be forever cherished by his devoted wife, Wanda "Bonnie" Cunningham; five sons, Todd (Lacey) Cunningham, Adam L. (Dilethia) Cunningham, Ernest (Debra) Cunningham, Brian Curry and LaCorey Curry; four daughters, Emma Jean Cunningham and Bridgette (Dock) Stewart, Iris Cunningham, and Katrina Curry; six brothers, Alphonso (Terri) Cunningham, Jr., Thomas (Liz) Groce, E. Donald Cunningham, Gary Cunningham, Kelvin (Vanessa) Cunningham, and Jimmy Cunningham; two sisters, Gloria Smith and Elinor Cunningham; thirty-four grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. While his physical presence may be no longer with us, the memory of Mr. William Cunningham will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. The impact he had on the lives of others will never be forgotten. As we bid farewell to Mr. William Cunningham, let us remember the joy he brought to our lives, the warmth in his smile, and the unwavering love he shared with everyone. His spirit will continue to shine brightly, guiding and inspiring us all. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
