Stanley D. Dark

Mr. Stanley "Stan" D. Dark was born to parents, William H. Dark and Annie Ruth Ragland on August 1, 1953, in Talladega, Alabama. At an early age, Stan accepted Christ and united with Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He received his formal education in the Talladega County School System. He attended Ophelia Hill School in Munford and was a graduate of Talladega County Training School (now Talladega County Central High School) in 1971. Stan later attended Nunnelley State Technical College (now Central Alabama Community College). His military career began October 31, 1972, in the United States Air Force. He served four years and was a F-15 Mechanic at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas. Stanley honorably served his country as a Sergeant. Stan started his civilian career at General Dynamics Corporation, Fort Worth, Texas and later retired from Work Services Corporation, Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas. As Stan traveled this earthly journey, he became the father of two loving daughters, Tocha and Queen Jasmine. He enjoyed listening to R&B music, slamming dominoes and playing a good game of spades. During football season, you could hear him yelling "Roll Tide" and most recently bowling had become a hobby for him. On a beautiful day, you could find him petting his favorite duck while sitting by the lake in his favorite chair. Mr. Stanley "Stan" Deforrest Dark, at the age of 69, returned to his heavenly home on Saturday, January 28, 2023, joining his father, Private First Class (USA) William H. Dark, sister, Captain (USA) Herticene S. Easley and stepfather, Staff Sergeant (USA) John S. Easley III. He leaves to cherish his fond and precious memories, his daughters, Tocha R. Calhoun of Talladega, Alabama and Queen Jasmine Dark of Wichita Falls, Texas; two grandchildren, Kiara E. Calhoun and Antonio D. Gary II both of Talladega, Alabama; two great-grandchildren, Khaleigh A. Benjamin and Mason A. Carlisle both of Talladega, Alabama; his mother, Annie Ruth Ragland Easley of Alpine, Alabama; one brother, Corporal (USMC) John S. (Ophelia) Easley IV of Morro Bay, California; four sisters, Maxine Dark Eli of Alexandria, Louisiana, Master Sergeant (USAF, Retired) Jacqueze (Timothy) Easley-Donohue of San Antonio, Texas, Redelle Easley-Howell of Alpine, Alabama, and Major (USAF, Retired) Stacia (Dawud) Easley Shillingford of Chantilly, Virginia; two step-sisters, Joanetta Easley Smith of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and Vanzella (Bennie) Easley Vincent of Westminster, Maryland; one uncle, Clarence Ragland, Jr. of Lockport, New York; three aunts, Mildred "Mikki" Lewis of Anderson, Indiana, Geraldine Stephens of Stafford, Virginia, and Sharon Young of Fort Worth, Texas; one step-aunt, Doletha Easley Lynch of Anderson, Indiana; special cousins, Tanya "Pebbles" (Willie) Wilson of Harvest, Alabama, and Staff Sergeant (USAF) Eric Wayne (Donna) Foreman of Wichita Falls, Texas; devoted nurse, Mrs. Bonnie Masters of University Park Nursing and Rehabilitation in Wichita Falls, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
