Sherry Gail Ridley

SHERRY GAIL RIDLEY, affectionately known by family and friends as "Cutie," was born on September 9, 1970, in Anniston, Alabama. Sherry lived a life marked by love, loyalty, strength, and an unforgettable personality that touched everyone she met. Sherry embraced her faith which provided strength, guidance, and comfort throughout her life's journey. She faithfully attended God is Good Ministry in Bowdon, Georgia, under the leadership of Prophetess Lynn McKey. A proud graduate of Oxford High School's Class of 1989, Sherry carried herself with confidence and authenticity throughout her life. She was a woman who spoke her mind, stood firmly on her principles, and never hesitated to tell you exactly what she thought; but it always came from a place of honesty and genuine concern. Sherry was known for her generous heart and selfless spirit. Many would say she would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She found joy in helping others and making sure those she loved were cared for. Her kindness was matched only by her fierce devotion to her family. When it came to her loved ones, Sherry stood as a protector, supporter, and advocate for those closest to her. Sherry took pride in her appearance and carried herself with style, confidence, and a touch of sass that made her uniquely unforgettable. One thing everyone knew about Sherry was that she always wanted her lips "popping." Her smile, humor, and vibrant personality could light up any room. On Thursday, June 11, 2026, Sherry Gail Ridley peacefully transitioned from labor to reward in the comfort of her home. She was preceded in death by her mother, Magnolia Knight Ridley; and her brother, Stanley Ridley. To know Sherry was to know someone who was real, loyal, loving, and unapologetically herself. Her impact will continue to live on in the hearts of her sons, Q yndarius Ellis and Chantley Williams; four grandchildren; brothers, Pastor Dr. Robert (Betty) Pyles and Jimmy Garrett; sisters, Deborah (Elder Marcus) Houston, Minister Doris (Dr. Jeffery Sr.) Leonard, Shirley Ridley, Marilyn (Fred) Eason, Lisa (Carlos Glenn) Ridley and Barbara Wilson; bonus son, Prince Brown; uncle, Douglas Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other family members and friends. Though her earthly presence is gone, the memories Sherry created, the laughter she shared, and the love she poured into the lives of others will remain forever
