Robbie Bernard Elston, 60, was a man full of life, laughter, and love. Known for his infectious energy, his sharp style, and his deep devotion to family, Robbie touched the lives of everyone who knew him.Born to the late Paula Spinks Elston and Elijah Elston, Robbie grew up with a love for sports, style, and connection. A proud Anniston High School alumnus, Class of 1983, Robbie loved his school days and often declared himself "The Best Thing That Ever Happened to '83!" - a title he wore proudly, even having it printed on a T-shirt not long ago.A true sports enthusiast, he loved football, basketball, and baseball - whether he was watching, talking stats, or suiting up in one of his many jerseys, blinged out jewelry, paired with fresh sneakers. But he could turn just as many heads dressed in a sharp suit. His passion extended beyond the game to the open road, where his love for old school cars and trucks fueled his hobby of admiring and restoring classic rides - even if they started as "junkyard treasures." He enjoyed detailing vehicles in his healthier days and even just hanging out at car washes admiring all the clean rides. Robbie also had a knack for friendly competition. If there was a card game, dice game, or football board to get in on, you could count him in - always with a smile and an eye on the win. His favorite card games, Tonk and Spades, became part of his legacy, and he proudly taught others, even passing down the tradition at Thanksgiving last year.Family gatherings were his stage and his joy. If you were looking for him, you'd find him near the DJ booth, making sure the music was right, and the crowd was happy. He loved family, fun, and creating memories that will be cherished forever.Above all, Robbie's faith anchored him. He was a proud member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, where he had recently joined and attended services. He knew and believed in God, trusting Him through every season of life. Despite enduring serious health challenges, Robbie faced them with strength, resilience, and a spirit that refused to quit.Robbie leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Niah (Domineke) McMillian; his son, Josh Williams; his grandchildren, Symiah Curry, Kinsley Mitchell, and Messiah McMillian; his younger brother, Odis (Sandy) Elston; his niece, Eleisia (Jeremy) Mastin; his uncle, Richard (Lucille) Farrow; his aunt, Annie Caldwell; his close cousin and brother at heart, Aranda Gunn; his special friend, Della Sims; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.Robbie's life was a testament to living fully, loving deeply, and holding fast to faith. Though he will be deeply missed, his laughter, style, and light will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. And in true Robbie fashion, we know he's somewhere up above - dressed sharp, music turned up, cards in hand - already winning.
