Rickey Charles Morris

Mr. Rickey Charles Morris was born to the union of Joe Nathan and Rose Bell Ragland Morris in Talladega, Alabama on April 19, 1957. He received his formal education in the Talladega County School system and was a 1975 graduate of Talladega County Training School. Mr. Morris worked with Tyson foods for several years before starting his career in the construction industry as a laborer. Known to all as "GOAT" - "Greatest Of All Times", Rickey was a fun loving, kind-hearted, energetic person who loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. His family meant the world to him, and they all were left with many memories and stories to tell about "GOAT"; He would let you know who he was and also tell you "I AM IN LEGEND IN MY OWN WAY". Goat was a jokester and big talker who loved to talk junk. He would keep you laughing, and you never had to worry about a dull moment when he was present. On Thursday, December 8, 2022, after Mr. Morris had been blessed with 65 years of being "The Greatest Of All Times" and "A Legend In His Own Way", he peacefully traded his labor for eternal rest while surrounded by loved ones at Citizen's Baptist Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Nathan and Rose Bell Morris and siblings, Kerry Morris, Ella Morris, and Ann Morris. Leaving behind to cherish the many years of Mr. Morris loving memories are his loving and devoted wife, Brenda Moten Morris; four children, Anthony (Candice) Morris, Charles (Shawndreka) Morris, Jakelon (Jakenya) Isom, and Jakyah Isom; six siblings, Lee Curtis (Nessie) Morris, Bill (Re) Morris, Danny (Barbara Ann) Morris, Rosa (Richard) Morris, Terry Morris, Barbara Ann "Lane" Morris, and Stan (Nona) Morris; his tribe, Zekaylen "Stank" Isom, ZeRyan "Bruh" Isom, ZeKeelon "Bitty-RiKary" Isom, Brooklyn "Brook" Morris, Rowlan "Row-Dog" Morris, Devilin "Delo" Cameron, Amari "Duty" Morris, Ansley "Molly" Morris, and A'sa "Mama Ann" Morris; special daughter and son, Bobby and Shareka Garrett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Although a jokester of the community has gone before us, Mr. Morris has left a legacy of fun-loving memories behind, and he will be missed immensely by all the lives he has touched. Mr. Morris 65-year life journey has truly been a blessing to everyone he has encountered.
