A Celebration Remembering the Life of Richie "Rick" Few, 67, of Ashland, Alabama, will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 11 a.m. at S.M. Goodson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arthur Welch officiating. Interment with commence immediately following the services at Oldfield Cemetery in Ashland, Alabama. A public viewing for Mr. Few will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 3-7 p.m. at S.M. Goodson Funeral Home. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home and Crematory-Talladega. Mr. Richie Few began life's journey in Ashland, AL on September 9, 1954, when he was born to the union of the late Joann Garrett Few Knight and Johnny Few, Jr. Richie found assurance in the word of God at an early age when he accepted Christ and united with Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Richie was educated in the Clay County School System and was a graduate of Clay County High School. After high school, Richie began his working career as an assembler in the construction industry and working with Wellborn Cabinets for many years before retiring. Richie, affectionately known by his family and friends as "Rick" was well-known in the community. He was often called "The Fisherman" because his passion was FISHING. He loved the fishing banks and would fish 24/7 if time permitted, but during football season, he had to give fishing a break to allow time for his Alabama "Roll Tide" Football Games. When Richie felt lucky, he would often take a drive to Wetumpka and press his luck with the slots. On Friday, May 20 2022, Richie peacefully answered God's call while doing what he loved. Upon entering those pearly gates, Richie was reunited with his son, Richard DeWayne Duncan and parents, Johnny Few, Jr. and Joann Knight. Leaving behind to forever cherish Richie's beautiful memories are his daughter, Tamika Lynn Few; brother, Timothy (Mae Edna) Few; two sisters, Pam Welch and Tina Few; granddaughter, Sumira Duncan; two aunts, Nell (Clarence) McKenzie and Jane (Jewell) Foster; special friend, Annie Maude Duncan; two bonus grandchildren, Troy Buchanon and Brooklyn Simmons; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
