Reginald L. Thomas

Reginald Thomas, a sweet, loving, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, departed this life on June 8, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on May 10, 1951 in Birmingham, Alabama, Reginald was the beloved son of Dorothy Shelton Thomas and Robert Thomas. He attended Bessemer High School, where he formed many friendships and memories that remained dear to him throughout his life. Reginald proudly served his country in the United States Marines as a sniper. Reginald was known for his kind heart, warm smile, and deep love for his family. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his grandchildren, whom he cherished beyond measure. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or simply enjoying their company, he treasured every moment with them. A man who enjoyed life's simple pleasures, Reginald loved fishing and could often be found by the water enjoying the peace and relaxation it brought him. He also enjoyed playing games with his beloved wife, creating countless memories filled with laughter and companionship. Reginald was a proud member of the Easy Riders Motorcycle Club, where he enjoyed the brotherhood and freedom of the open road. Reginald also enjoyed hanging out with the members of the Montgomery Easy Riders. His passion for motorcycles was just one of the many ways he embraced life and built lasting friendships. For 36 years, Reginald shared a beautiful and loving marriage with his devoted wife, Brunella Thomas. Together they built a life grounded in love, loyalty, and unwavering support for one another. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and commitment. Reginald leaves a legacy of love that will forever be treasured by his wife, Brunella Thomas; sons, Traquon K. Cooper, Quantez B. Cooper, Barry D. Cooper, and Reginal (Brittany) Thomas, Jr.; grandchildren, Traquon Cooper Jr., Tyeisha Griffin, Armoni Cooper, Khaliyah Cooper, Kwontez Cooper, Ja'Miyah Brown, Miracle Cooper, Reanna Thomas, Janiya Thomas, and Jakobe Thomas; adopted granddaughter, Yazmon Arnold; goddaughter, Sharonda McKinley; friend, Melvin Wilson; daughter-in-law, Catrece Brown; caring friend, Brian Whatley; and a host of other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Thomas and Dorothy Thomas; father-in-law, Calvin Thomas; mother-in-law, Eunice Roper; his siblings, Thomas Shelton, Dorothy Shelton, Helen Shelton, and Betty J. Shelton; and grandson, Quontavious Cooper. Reginald will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his love of family, his sense of humor, and the kindness he showed to everyone who knew him. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the cherished memories he leaves behind. Though he will be deeply missed, his love, wisdom, and presence will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. Forever loved, forever remembered, forever missed.
