Rashard Jamal Welch

On December 28, 1976 in Anniston, Alabama, Lutricia Welch and the late Jesse Welch welcomed a loving son, Rashard Jamal Welch. Rashard completed his formal education in the Anniston City School System and graduated from Anniston High School in 1996. He pursued a successful career as a barber. His talent and passion as a barber allowed him to form strong bonds and friendships within the community. Along his life journey, Rashard met his soulmate, Monique Williams at the tender age of twelve. This friendship blossomed into a love and bond that could not be broken. On, August 30, 2007, Rashard and Monique joined in holy matrimony and became one. This union allowed them to raise their children together with love and compassion. He loved all of his children unconditionally. However, his princess, Kendale, held a special place in his heart. Rashard had many titles but, "PawPaw" was his favorite. He was a dedicated father, a loving grandfather, and a devoted husband who always put his family first. Rashard's unwavering faith and heart of gold was evident in his everyday living and was shown through his spirit of loving, giving and caring. He shared not only his time, but also his wisdom. He never missed an opportunity to encourage and uplift people. He held a deep love for children, finding joy in their presence. Rashard found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was fishing, dancing to his favorite tunes, or singing along, although he was not always in tune. His bubbling personality made Rashard the life of the party wherever he went. Rashard's love for sports was strong and could be seen through his passionate support for the Auburn Tigers, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. On Monday, April 1, 2024, at the age of 47, Mr. Rashard Jamal Welch, a devoted husband, extraordinary father, and doting grandfather, took the Master's hand and was granted eternal rest with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Welch, his grandparents, Margaret Simmons, Sam O. Welch and Gernie Welch, and his grandson, Jaceyon Williams. Mr. Welch's legacy of love and precious memories will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Monique Welch; his sons, Rashard (Meonia) Williams, Quendarius Williams, and Bradyn Joiner all of Anniston; his daughter, Kendale Welch of Anniston; his grandchildren, Cameron Williams, Aubrey Williams, Trinity Williams, Rashard Williams, Jr., Aubree Ervin, Nehemiah Bailey, Kai Williams, Kennedi Williams and Isaiah Williams all of Anniston; his mother, Lutricia Welch of Anniston; his brothers, Kenyon Welch of Anniston and Lanorris Siders of California; his father-in-law, Herbert (Nicole) Chatman of Clarksville, TN; mother-in-law, Barbara Phillips of Anniston; his brothers-in-law, Herbert Chatman, Jr. of Gwinnett, GA, Jeremy Williams of Anniston, Devodrick Williams of Anniston, Phillip Chatman of Clarksville, TN and Nicholas (Alexis) Chatman of St. Louis, MO; his sister-in-law, Ronella (Willis) Collins, Indianapolis, IN; ; his godson, Devonta Whatley of Anniston, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His contagious smile and compassionate spirit will be deeply missed by all.
