PauJeriya Holt

On December 10, 1996 in Talladega, Alabama, Coretta Holt embraced the world with a beautiful daughter who was given the name PauJeriya Kunae Holt. PauJeriya was medically fragile, but a happy and well-loved girl, by her family and community. Her love for her family was unparalleled, and it was shown each time she saw or heard her family presence. PauJeriya was a great adventure, her life was not an easy one by any measurement. We could talk about some of her struggles and the lessons that we learned through her but that is not why we are here today. We're here today to celebrate her life - my beautiful sister. Nothing about PauJeriya was mediocre, her trials were challenging, her losses - heartbreaking, her victories - monumental and her love - shimmering. Love was perhaps the biggest lesson that she taught us. It is, not was unconditional and pure.When PauJeriya smiled she did so with her whole body and beam a wide smile. PauJeriya was gifted to us by God, for whose benefit, we are still not sure. What we are sure about is that he had angels looking after her throughout her time with us. And that when she was called back to God they flew alongside of her. On Friday evening, September 12, 2025, while in the comfort of her home in Montgomery, Alabama, PauJeriya Kunae Holt peacefully gained her heavenly wings and transitioned to her eternal home joining her mother, Coretta Holt, grandparents, Clarence McKenzie and Jessie Holt Glover, uncle, David James Holt, and aunt, Barbara H. Peyton. Although Paujeriya has left this earthly realm, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. PauJeriya leaves behind all her fun-loving memories to forever be cherished by her loving and devoted sister, Daretta Holt (Jeremy) Knight; an adorable niece who loved her dearly, Laila Knight; one aunt, Clairee Holt; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends. The next time you pass a disabled child, don't turn your head in pity but know, even though there might be suffering, they have the key to what love and happiness really is. "God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So, he put his arms around you and whispered, "come with me". With tearful eyes I watched you and saw you pass away. Although I loved you dearly, I could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, puppy paw hands at rest...God broke my heart to prove to me, he only takes the BEST!""
