Services Remembering the Life of Mrs. Nellie Mae White Wallace,87, of Talladega will be held Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 12 Noon at the graveside of the Oak Hill Cemetery-Talladega, AL with Rev. Clarence Henderson, officiating. Final interment will commence following the service. Public viewing will be held on Friday, December 25, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the S.M. Goodson Funeral Home Chapel. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home- Talladega. Mrs. Nellie Mae White Wallace was born on March 2, 1933, in Talladega, Alabama, to the late Martha White Johnson. Mrs. Nellie was raised by Mr. Williams and Mrs. Ada White in Talladega, Alabama. At an early age, Mrs. Wallace confessed Christ and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior, and united with the Africa Baptist Church. Mrs. Nellie Mae received her formal education and graduated from the R.R. Moton High School. Along Nellie’s life’s journey, she was united in holy matrimony to her forever love, the late Mr. Harold Wallace for 60 years, and to this union, eight children were loved and cared for. Mrs. Nellie Mae Wallace joined the Bemis Brothers Bag Company and worked there for many years, holding many positions. Following her tenure at the Bemis Brother Bag Company, she joined the Georgia Pacific Company, where she would later retire. Following her retirement from Georgia Pacific, Mrs. Nellie was a Caregiver for 20 years. On Monday, December 21, 2020, Mrs. Wallace was called to her eternal rest. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Mr. Harold Wallace; two sons Anthony Wallace and James Wallace; one step-son, Joseph Wallace; three grandsons, Kevin Leonard, SaKayi Green and Tevin Farrior; one Granddaughter from Cleveland, Ohio; mother Martha White Johnson, one sister Ada V. Morris, two brothers Henry Simmons and Albert Funderburg. Mrs. Nellie Mae leaves to cherish her precious memories: children, Sadie Wallace of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Georgia Leonard and Alice (Reginald) Scott, both of Talladega, Alabama, Sandra(Daryl)Ragland of Buena Vista, Georgia, Harold Wallace, Jr. and Victor Wallace, both of Talladega, Alabama; step daughter, Rose Marie King of Birmingham, Alabama; sister, Katie Lee Young of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; thirty-eight grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, brothers-in-law, Wilby (Hattie) Wallace of Talladega, Alabama, Harold (Doris) Charles of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Edna Wynn and Alice Wallace, both of Talladega Alabama, and Mary Wallace of California, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
