Misty McElroy

On December 7, 1977, in Talladega, Alabama, Mary Joyce Mosley and James Sims embraced the world with a beautiful baby girl who was given the name Misty, meaning someone who is a gift to God, a miracle, and beautiful in their own way. Misty fulfilled the definition of her name to the fullest. She was determined to be a true servant of God at an early age while attending Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church. It was then that Misty accepted Christ as her Lord and personal Savior serving as a faithful member for many years. Misty received her formal education in the Talladega County School System and was a graduate of Lincoln High School. After completing high school, Misty joined the workforce where she became a dedicated cook while being employed with Jack's Restaurant for a number of years. As Misty traveled this 47-year journey, along the way, she found her soulmate, Jeffery McElroy. The two became one in 2006 when they were united in Holy Matrimony sharing nearly 20 years of a blessed marriage. Misty loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her nephew who was just like her grandson, Korbin Lamar. Korbin was the joy of Misty's life and her most prized possession. Her love for him was unconditional. She also enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows, "The Jefferson's" and "The Golden Girls". On the morning of February 25, 2025, Misty while surrounded by loved ones, answered the call of her Master saying, "Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant" and peacefully transitioned from this walk of life to her new eternal heavenly home reuniting with her father, James Sims, her grandmother, Mrs. Mary Traylor, her daughter/niece, Destiny Wells, sister, Roslyn Wells, aunt, Lisa Lynch, and uncle, Jimmy Traylor. Misty's memories will forever be cherished by her loving and devoted husband, Jeffery McElroy; adorable, nephew/grandson, Korbin Lamar Nelson; beloved mother, Mary Joyce Mosley; sister, Patrice Mosley; nephew, Cleon Wells, Jr.; best friends, Conswalia Chatman-Phillips, Jackie Gaston, and Jamie Holland; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends that will miss her greatly. Although a solid pillar of our community has made her grand entrance through those pearly gates where the streets are paved with gold, her beautiful soul will never be forgotten and her memories we will forever hold. Misty you will be missed immensely by all the hearts you have touched and lives you have encountered.
