Minnie Cox

Born on June 11, 1932, in Hertford, North Carolina to parents, Christopher T. Felton, Sr. and Leatta Jeanette Felton, Minnie Cox was a woman of strength, resilience, and unwavering compassion. Minnie was a treasured presence in the community, leaving a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her vibrant soul and warm smile brightened the lives of those around her, spreading joy wherever she went. As an African American woman, Minnie faced many challenges throughout her life, but she continued to rise above them, showcasing her determination and resilience. Minnie's pursuit of knowledge led her to earn a High School Diploma, proving her commitment to personal growth and setting an example for her loved ones. She dedicated her professional career as a CRT-Specialist, serving in the government sector. With her expertise and knowledge, she made a significant contribution to her field, gaining respect and admiration from her peers. Above all else, Minnie was a devoted mother, raising two wonderful children, Duane Cox and Traci Napier. Her unconditional love and guidance shaped their lives, and her legacy lives on through them. Her family meant the world to her, and her love for them knew no bounds. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and shopping. On Thursday morning, August 24, 2023 while under the care of Enhabit Hospice and Anniston Health and Rehab, Mrs. Minnie Felton Cox answered the Master's call saying "Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant" as she made her grand entrance through those pearly gates joining her beloved husband, Bennie Cox; parents, Christopher and Leatta Felton, Sr.; brothers, James Felton and Christopher (Viola) Felton; and sisters, Gloria (John ) Lawson, Hattie Felton, Emma Felton, and Shirley Fairley. Minnie Cox will forever remain a beacon of love, strength, and inspiration for us all. Let us remember her with joy and gratitude, cherishing the beautiful memories she left behind for her son, Duane (Carolyn) Cox; daughter, Traci Napier; brother, Charlie (Barbara) Felton; sisters, Anne (John) Redfern and Margie Rainy; eight grandchildren, Jessica Cox, Merissa Cox, Daina Amos, Delayna Elliott, Kristin Wade, Tammy Wade, Jocelyn Farrior, and Andrew (Stephanie Espinoza) Farrior; four great-grandchildren, Jaliyah Bush, Jaylon Kenan, Kerrigan Kenan, and Penelope Farrior; special cousin, Helen Johnson; sister-in-law, Pauline Felton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. May Mrs. Cox find eternal peace, and may her spirit guide us on our journey of love and compassion.
