Melanie Beard

On March 11, 1973 in Anniston, Alabama, Fannie Smith Kirby and the late Steve Jones welcomed to the world a bubbly baby girl and gave her the name Melanie Kirby. As a youth, while residing in Anniston, Melanie committed her to life Christ and united with Greater Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. She received her formal education in the Calhoun City School System where she attended Anniston High School. Soon after receiving her formal education, Melanie began her working career in the healthcare industry as a CNA several years before moving to Gainesville, Georgia in search of better job opportunities and a better education for her son. Once Melanie settled in Gainesville, she continued her career in healthcare until her passing. As Melanie made her path through this 50-year blessed earthly journey, she became the mother of five loving children, Laquisha, Conswaela, Mahisha, Janasia, and Orenthial Turner Jr. She found great joy in shopping, decorating, and fashion. Anytime she stepped in a room, she was made sure she was the center of attention with an enthusiastic personality. Melanie was definitely a people person and the life of the party, always carrying a beautiful smile that would brighten the darkest room. She loved life and was grateful for every moment she had of it. Melanie has left an impression on many and will be missed immensely by all the lives she has touch and encountered. On the evening of Monday, April 24, 2023, Melanie's 50 blessed years on this earthly journey ended when God called for her to accept her wings and take eternal rest joining her father, Steve Jones. Melanie leaves behind a legacy of love and memories to forever be cherished by her loving children, Laquisha Kirby, Conswaela Kirby, Mahisha (Jordan) Drake, Janasia Price, and Orenthial Turner Jr.; devoted mother, Fannie L. Kirby; siblings, Stevie(Vicki) Christopher, Clarissa Corbin, Marcie Jones, LeCole Kirby, Shannon (Melvin) Long, Cedric Kirby, Monica Bolding, Zelman (Dushay) Johnson; seven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
