Mary Beavers

Born on January 29, 1941, in Pell City, Alabama, Mary was the cherished daughter of John Beavers, Sr. and Lucille Jordan Beavers. A remarkable woman with a gentle spirit, she touched the lives of all who had the privilege to know her. From a young age, Mary embraced her faith, joining First Baptist Church in Cropwell, where she served her community faithfully until her health began to decline. Her commitment to her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through both joyous and challenging times. A graduate of St. Clair County Training School, Mary pursued a career in the healthcare industry as a lab technician and phlebotomist at New York Presbyterian Hospital for over five decades. Her dedication to her work and her compassion for others were evident throughout her years of service, leaving an indelible mark on those she cared for. She was a member of Labor Union 1199, which was the first group to form the union for healthcare insurance. Though humble and quiet, Mary possessed a vibrant spirit and an appreciation for life's finer things. She had a firm love for her family and friends, combined with a nurturing kindness that endeared her to all. Mary found joy in simple pleasures - from knitting to the tranquility of fishing along the riverbanks to the exhilaration of a motorcycle ride when time permitted. These memories will forever be a testament to her adventurous and loving nature. On Thursday, November 28, 2024, Ms. Mary Virginia Beavers, answered her Master's call while in the comfort of her home surrounded by her beloved family. Once ascending into the heavenly realm, she was reunited with her parents, John and Lucille Jordan, son, Anthony Beavers, and brothers, John Beavers, Jr. and Heron Beavers. Her memory will forever remain a beacon of love and warmth for those she leaves behind. Mary leaves to cherish her fun-loving memories three devoted sisters, Marion Beavers of Hampton, Georgia, Betty Lee Beavers of Jonesboro, Georgia, and Wanda Seals of Pell City, Alabama; nieces and nephews, Babbie Beavers of Waldorf, Maryland , Sandra E. Beavers of Jonesboro, Georgia, Ronald Beavers of Pell City, Alabama, Gregory Beavers of Pell City, Alabama, Johnny W. Seals of Pell City, Alabama, and Demetrius Seals of Pell City, Alabama; and a host of other relatives and friends.
