Marse Goodman

A man whose lively spirit and infectious humor touched the lives of all who knew him, Marse Deron Goodman was born on June 16, 1982, in Anniston, Alabama, to the union of Ralph Graves and Ernestine Westbrook Graves. At a young age, Marse accepted Christ and united with Welcome Chapel CME Church. He was educated in the Oxford City School System where he attended school in Oxford. He later joined the workforce in the restaurant industry as a cook and became a dedicated employee of Shoney's restaurant until his health began to decline after injuries he suffered in a car accident. He later relocated to Brown Deer, Wisconsin to spend time with his sister before returning home to Alabama. Known for his unwavering love for his family and his endearing nickname, "Say Good," Marse brought joy and laughter wherever he went. As an avid fan of the Auburn Tigers and the Dallas Cowboys, he found great pleasure in watching football games, creating lasting memories with his loved ones, and sharing his infectious laughter with friends and family alike. His mom was his best friend. Marse enjoyed hanging with his friends and telling everybody "You So Pretty". He was very outgoing and funny with a soft heart. On Saturday, October 12, 2024 while in the care of Princeton Baptist Medical Center, Marse Deron Goodman made his grand entrance into the heavenly realm. He was reunited with his father, Ralph Graves, sister, Synorvia Brewster, and brother Anthony Goodman. Marse Deron Goodman leaves a legacy of fun memories to forever be cherished by his loving mother, Ernestine Graves; sister, Alice (Rev. James T.) Crook; nieces and nephews, Nasheeta Brewster, LaKeitha Brewster, Anthony Pyles, Syrenthia Pyles, Breanna Goodman, Iesha Goodman, and Aaron Goodman; sister-in-law, Pam Goodman; brother-in-law, Wayne Brewster; and a host of aunts, uncles, great-nieces and nephews; cousins, other relatives, and friends. May his spirit find comfort in the arms of the angels, may his laughter echo through the halls of eternity, and may his memory bring solace to all who mourn his passing.
