In loving memory, we celebrate the life of Marilyn Truss Cameron, born on February 29, 1956, in Talladega, Alabama, to the union of Mr. Lee Curtis Truss and Mrs. Gladys Beavers Truss. After a fulfilling and vibrant journey of 70 years, Marilyn, embraced by the loved of her family, transitioned to her eternal rest on Friday May 29, 2026, in Lincoln, Alabama, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, laughter, and community spirit. From a young age, Marilyn embraced her faith, accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior while attending Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully. Later in life, became a cherished member of Little Jerusalem Church of God, where she selflessly served on the Pastor's Care Society and in various church auxiliaries. Her devotion to spreading the word of God was as boundless as the love she shared with those around her. Marilyn was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School and furthered her education at Samford University, culminating her journey at the Rushing Springs School of Theology. Her professional life was marked by over 25 years of dedicated service in several departments at The Anniston Army Depot, where she thrived and built lasting relationships. On September 15, 1978, Marilyn embarked on a beautiful journey of marriage with her beloved soulmate, Mr. George Cameron. Together, they shared over 44 years of love and companionship, raising two wonderful children, Nicholas and Marsha. A devoted mother and wife, Marilyn's love was unconditional, enriching the lives of those she encountered. Known for her radiant spirit, Marilyn was a gem in her Howell Cove Community. She found joy in tending to her garden, raising her chickens and gathering their eggs to prepare a heartfelt meal for her family. Her infectious smile could light up the darkest room, and her fashion sense was as vibrant as her personality. Those who knew her cherished her sincerity and the warm laughter she brought to every occasion. Marilyn leaves behind a cherished legacy of compassion, strength, and community spirit. She is reunited in spirit with her beloved husband George, her son, Nicholas, her parents ,Lee Curtis and Gladys Truss, and her siblings Mary Green, Joyce Elston, Curley Brewer, Betty Jean Warren, Robert McCargo, Leo Truss, and Willie Lee Williams. Marilyn's memory continues to live on in her loving daughter, Marsha Cameron; her son-in-love, Terrance (LaShanda) Borden; her daughter-in-love, Unlander (Rodney) Borden; and her special grandson, Kendarius Hickman. She is also remembered fondly by seven grandchildren-in-love, Rodrekius, Kelonda, Jatavious, Ashaluntae, Wyeshia, Tashayon, and Laterrance; and numerous great-grandchildren-in-love, along with three sisters, Brenda Hall, Vanessa (Kenneth) Reed, and Annie Mae Cochran; sister-in-law, Winnie Cameron; brothers-in-law, Henry Elston and Larry Green; special niece, Kacy Peterson; special friends, Bro. Eddie and Sis. Renita Leonard; her handsome little grand-fur baby, "Buddy"; and a wealth of great-grandchildren-in-love, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. As we reflect on Marilyn's extraordinary journey, we invite everyone to come together in remembrance. Let us celebrate the values she embodied: kindness, laughter, and the importance of caring for one another. Though she has departed from our sight, her spirit continues to illuminate our path, guiding us with love. Rest in peace, our dear Marilyn. Your legacy will forever resonate in our hearts.
