Lee Roy Hill

Mr. Lee Roy "Crow" Hill was born on November 16, 1949, to the late Luther Hill, Sr. and the late Thelma Williams Hill in Talladega, Alabama. At an early age, Lee Roy accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Lane Chapel CME Church. Willie was educated in the Talladega County School System and was a member of Ophelia S. Hill High School Class of 1968. After completing his formal education, Lee Roy enlisted in the US Army in 1971 serving his country faithfully until he was honorably discharged. Once returning home to his family, Lee Roy began working as a custodian for the Talladega City School System. He remained a devoted employee for 25 years. Lee Roy decided that retiring was the key to success and being able to enjoy more quality time with his family. Affectionately known to all his school kids and even his children as "Mr. Hill" and "Quarterman", he was loved not only by his family, but all who knew him. He earned the nickname "Quarterman" from always giving the kids a quarter when they asked and buying the kids lunches when they did not have money. Lee Roy had a heart of gold and loved helping others. When it came to fashion, Lee Roy was the man. He loved to dress and made sure he had shoes to match every outfit making him be known as "Mr. Clean". Lee Roy loved listening to music, spending time with his family and watching him some Alabama "Roll Tide" Football. He also was a member of The Knoxville Social Savings Club. Lee Roy will be missed by all the lives he has touched and encountered. Lee Roy's earthly journey came to an end on Sunday, October 3, 2021, when he accepted the call of his Heavenly Father to join his parents, Luther and Thelma Hill, Sr., grandparents, John Kelly, John Henry Williams, Jenny Mae Street, and Josephine Williams, great-grandsons, Jeremy Hill, Jr. and Jaheim Hill, brothers, Luther Hill, Jr. and George Edward Hill, and sister, Linda Hill. Those left to cherish Lee Roy's memories are his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Mrs. Juliette Pointer Hill, two daughters, LaSonda (Sam) Pointer and Tekki Pointer; two sons, Lee Roy Pointer and Jeremy (Sharonda) Hill; four sisters, Alma Bradford, Augusta Finch, Teresa Greenhill, and Vanessa Dye; one brother, Marcus Brown; grandchildren, Tiarra Pointer, Quintavius Chatman, Jarvaris Chatman, Jeremysha Williams, LeRiah Pointer, Isaiah Graham, Nia Graham, Dan Torris Flenord, Justin Hill, Javion Wright, and Shanterrica Threatt; a special great-grandchild, Ricky "RJ" Jones, ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
