LaSandra Akles

Born on June 18, 1954, in Cleburne County, Alabama, LaSandra was the beloved daughter of the late James Henry Akles and Billie Marie Akles. She was a proud African American woman whose warmth and gracious spirit left an indelible mark on her community. LaSandra led a life rooted in faith and compassion. She embraced Christianity and became a devoted member of the Miracle Revival Temple in Anniston. Her strong belief in the Lord guided her through life's journey. Education played an important role in LaSandra's life as she completed her studies in the Calhoun County School system, ultimately earning her high school diploma from Oxford High School. However, her true calling and greatest joy stemmed from her role as a loving mother. LaSandra poured her heart and soul into nurturing and supporting her four children and bonus daughter, showering them with unwavering love and devotion. Her selflessness and unconditional love made her a pillar of strength for her family. While surrounded by her loved ones, LaSandra Akles, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend peacefully passed away on December 6, 2023, at the age of 69 while in the care of Gadsden Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Alabama. As she entered those pearly gates, she was greeted by her beloved daughter, Shelea Akles, parents, James Henry Akles and Billie Marie Akles, brother, Bobby Akles, and sister, Brenda Gayle Heath. She was a beacon of love, strength, and kindness to all who were fortunate enough to know her. LaSandra's legacy lives on through her adoring children, ShaunQuesha Akles, Uriah McElderry, Melanie McElderry, and She'Quaria Akles who were the lights of her life. Their bond was unbreakable, a testament to the deep love they shared. LaSandra's memory will also be cherished by her siblings: Mary Helen (Robert) Carr of Huntsville, AL, Patricia (JC) Patton of Munford, AL, Janice Moore of Dallas, TX, James Alton Akles, Marcus Akles, Angela (Mark) Montgomery, Karen Whatley, and Scotty (Falicia) Akles. She held a special place in her heart for her grandson Mahailon Knight (KD) alongside her grandchildren, Deauntrial Akles, D'undrel Akles, Jafari Jones, Kalabe Malone, Patrick Fuller, RyQueze Montgomery, Jamouri Jefferson, and Kalea McElderry; eleven great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly; and a special friend, Jackie Foster. LaSandra's presence will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends. LaSandra's life was a testament to compassion, resilience, and joy. She lived each day with a smile, radiating warmth that embraced everyone around her. Her loving nature, coupled with her unwavering strength, left a lasting impact on all who encountered her. LaSandra's legacy will forever be etched in our hearts. LaSandra's presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. We will carry her legacy of love, compassion, and resilience in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, dear LaSandra.
