Kelvin Nunn

Kelvin Nunn, Sr., a gentle soul, was born December 17, 1960 in Anniston, AL to Margaret Nunn Rhodes and the late Willie Bailey. Kelvin accepted Christ into his life at an early age. He was a member of New Jerusalem A.F.M. Church of God in Lincoln, AL where Bishop James A. Truss is the Pastor. Until his health declined, Kelvin also loved attending church with his family, serving in the church and helping others. Kelvin lived most of his life in Anniston and was a 1979 graduate of Anniston High School. Close family members and friends knew Kelvin as "Red", a nickname given to him by his grandfather, Junior Nunn. Kelvin was very friendly and kindhearted, never meeting a stranger. Kelvin's smile and loud laugh was contagious. In his past time, Kelvin spent time with family and friends and took pride in keeping his car washed and shiny. His favorite tire shop was Birmingham Blue Tire Shop and he felt no one could handle his tire business better than them. During football season, he enjoyed relaxing and watching the Alabama Crimson Tide. After suffering a long-term illness, the Lord called Kelvin Nunn, Sr. to his eternal home on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the age of 63, while in the care of Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Kelvin's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind. He now rests in peace, reunited with his loved ones who went before him including his father Willie Bailey, Sr., bonus father, Cecil G. Rhodes, Sr., sister, Monica Rhodes, brother, Cecil Rhodes, Jr., grandparents, Junior Nunn and Ida Nunn, and Willie Bailey, Sr. and Josephine Bailey. Survivors include his beloved wife, Jose Morris Nunn whom he cherished for 21 years; mother, Margaret Nunn Rhodes (Pensacola FL); sons, Kenya Jones (Tuscaloosa, AL), Kelvin Nunn Jr., and Kelveonta Nunn III ; bonus sons, Trey Morris, Lavonta Morris, and Lavaria Morris; bonus daughter, Lavonsha Keith; sisters, Barbara Rhodes (Pensacola, FL), Angela Gattison, and Sandra Kelley; brother, Gregory (Connie) Rhodes (Pensacola FL); aunt, Vanessa English; uncles, Ronald Nunn and Johnnie Nunn (Ypsilanti, MI); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In this time of mourning, we ask for your thoughts and prayers to uplift and comfort the Nunn family as they navigate through this period of grief and loss. Kelvin may have left this earthly realm, but his spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved him. Rest in peace, Kelvin Nunn, Sr. You will never be forgotten.
