Katia Johnson

On May 17, 1993, in Talladega, Alabama, Mr. Johnny Jones and Ms. Debra Johnson were blessed with the birth of a beautiful bubbly baby girl named Katia Johnson. Katia brought light and laughter into the world from the moment she entered it. Throughout her life, Katia exemplified resilience and faith, drawing strength from her strong belief in God. Educated in the Talladega City School System, she graduated from Talladega High School in 2011. She was the true definition of a loving and caring daughter, sister, aunt, niece and cousin. Katia's love for her family knew no bounds, and she found joy in the simple moments spent together, sharing laughter and creating cherished memories. Her playful spirit shone brightly, bringing comfort and laughter to those around her. An avid gamer, she delighted in playing Fortnite on her Play Station 5, always ready to engage in friendly competition and banter with her loved ones. Her sweet spirit will truly be missed by all the lives she touched on her path through this earthly life. On the evening of November 22, 2024, Katia peacefully embarked on her journey to eternal rest, answering the call of her Heavenly Father while in the care of Brookwood Citizen's Baptist Medical Center. As she ascended to her heavenly home, she was welcomed by her father, Johnny Jones, and grandmother, Marva Johnson Player, who awaited her with open arms. Katia's loving and fun memories will forever be cherished by her loving mother, Debra Johnson; brother, Christopher Johnson; sisters, Cenita Johnson and Diamond Jones; grandmother, Rebecca Threatt; nephews, Christopher Johnson, Jr. and Elijah Johnson; niece, Tytiana Johnson; aunts, Lisa Johnson, Stacey Threatt, and Beverly Threatt; uncles, Marcus Player, Kenneth Player, Eric Threatt, Derick Threatt, and Jarvis Wilkes; special cousins, Jacklyn (Justin) Wilson, Kendrick Johnson, and Dontarius Johnson; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends. In the days ahead, we will continue to honor and celebrate the life of Katia Johnson, a bright light extinguished too soon but whose memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the countless hearts she touched during her time on this earth. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and light that she brought into the world.
