Juanita Nails

Mrs. Juanita Nails peacefully entered eternal rest at the age of 85 on Monday, June 29, 2026, while in the care of Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama. She was born on September 16, 1940, in Lincoln, Alabama, to the late Willie Mae Weed. Juanita was lovingly raised by Rose Emory, whose guidance, love, and support helped shape the caring, spirited woman she became. From an early age, Juanita was grounded in her Christian faith. She grew up attending Pine Grove Baptist Church in Lincoln, Alabama where she developed a strong spiritual foundation. Later, she united with Greater Thankful Baptist Church in Anniston, Alabama, where she worshipped faithfully until her health begin to fail. Juanita, affectionately known as Boot, received her education at Talladega Training School, where she formed lifelong memories and friendships. Juanita never missed an opportunity to have fun, and she especially loved dancing. Her laughter, warm smile, and vibrant personality brought happiness to those who knew and loved her. Juanita loved spending time with her loving neighbor, Gail Wilson. Gail was not only a neighbor, but she was also a faithful friend, a caring caretaker, and someone Juanita could always depend on. Gail selflessly drove Juanita to appointments, shopping, and was always willing to lend a hand whenever needed. Juanita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie Amos Nails; her mother, Willie Mae Weed; her aunts, Fannie Bell Groce, Louise Curry, Onetha Jemison, and Mae Francis Weed; and her uncles, John Henry Weed, Henry Weed and Tommy Weed. Juanita leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted cousin, Lovell (Loretta) Groce, Marcus Weed, Rosie Kirksey, Debra Britt, Wayne Britt, and Loraine Britt; bonus daughter, Debra (Vlanie) Austin; brother-in-law, David Baker; sisters-in-law, Cynthia (Raymond) Williams and Sandra (Johnny) Edwards; her caring neighbor and dear friend, Gail Wilson; friend, Ruth Glover; and a host of extended family members and friends. Although our hearts are saddened by her passing, we rejoice in knowing that her life was well lived and that her beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the memories of all who loved her.
