Juakia Marshall

Juakia Marshall was born on June 3, 1965 to the union of Calvin and Juanita Fomby Elston. She graced the world with her warm spirit and kind heart. Juakia discovered her passion for singing at a young age, and her melodic voice resonated within the walls of churches and homes alike. At a young age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Holy Hill Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Later in life, she continued serving the Lord while attending Lilly Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She received her education in the Talladega County School System and was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Her dedication to her faith led her to serve and uplift those around her, leaving an enduring imprint on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. With a joyous demeanor and love for life, Juakia found comfort in laughter, conversation, and the company of her family, especially her son Jerion Marshall, Sr. whom she treasured dearly. Juakia was a gentle soul whose presence illuminated the lives of those around her. She was a very outgoing person who loved to enjoy life and have a good time. Throughout her life, Juakia found immense joy in simple pleasures like cooking, cleaning, and engaging in heartfelt conversations. On June 21, 2024 while in the care of North Alabama Medical Center, Juakia traded labor for eternal rest. May her soul find tranquility in the heavens above, where she is reunited with her parents, Calvin and Juanita Elston, son, Calvron Marshall, brother, Perry Elston, sister, Twanda (Dwight) Madden, brother-in-law, Michael Pearson, and other loved ones who have gone before her. Let us hold close the memories of her laughter, her music, and the love she shared with us. In her passing, Juakia leaves behind to cherish all her love and precious memories her son, Jerion (Whitney Smoot) Marshall; bonus son, Cordaryl Embry; Goddaughter, Marilyn Wiggins; grandchildren, Jerion Marshall, Jr.; Hayven Green, Adrien Marshall, Kennedi Marshall, and Calvin Marshall; brother, Darius (Vanessa) Elston; sister, Mertha Pearson; sister-in-law, Clara Elston; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Juakia's journey on this earthly plane may have reached its end, but as we come together to honor Juakia's life, let us find comfort in the knowledge that her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. May we gather in unity to celebrate a life well-lived and a soul that now rests in peace.
