Jeralene Miller

Jeralene Miller was born on June 18, 1937, in Anniston, Alabama to the late Idella Robinson Sandlin and Jesse James Perry. Jeralene received her education in the Anniston City School system and graduated from Cobb High School. After high school, she furthered her education by attending Cosmetology School. She received her cosmetologist license and found employment at a local hair salon. Jeralene decided to change careers and found employment at Anniston Memorial Hospital, now known as Regional Medical Center. She dedicated thirty-eight years of her life to the hospital before retiring but returned to work part-time for an additional ten years. Jeralene was affectionately known by her family as "Big Chief", a testament to her strong presence and leadership within her household. She cherished her family above all else, finding joy in caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jeralene held them close to her heart, always ensuring their well-being and happiness. Family gatherings and traveling to reunions with Fred held a special place in her heart as she cherished the time spent with her loved ones. In her free time, she enjoyed watching wrestling matches, cheering on her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys, and passionately supporting the Atlanta Braves in baseball. On Thursday, July 18, 2024, Jeralene entered eternal rest under the care of Noland Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick D. Miller; her parents, Idella Robinson Sandlin, Jesse James Perry and Bennie Sandlin and her brother James Perry. Those who celebrate her life and cherish precious memories are her daughters, Terri (Ben Pearson) Meadows and Yolanda Henderson of Anniston, Alabama; sons, Michael Morris of Anniston, Alabama and Marlon (Coretta) Morris 0f Oxford, Alabama; twelve grandchildren; host of great-grandchildren; sister, Benelle (Wayne) Brown of Georgia; special sister-in-law, Dollie Mae Copeland of Anniston; special niece, Arlaina Bell of Anniston, Alabama; a special comedic nephew, Curtis (Shane) Miller of Anniston and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. As we honor the memory of Jeralene Miller, let us recall the laughter we shared, the love she bestowed upon us, and the lasting impact she had on our lives. May her spirit live on in our hearts forever. "You may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts."
