Herman Moon

Mr. Herman Darryl "Moon Dog" Moon, a revered member of the Talladega community was born on August 28, 1959 in Alexander City, Alabama, to the union of Herman Moon and Betty Burton Moon. Affectionately known as "Moon Dog" by family and friends, Herman was a graduate of Munford High School. Once completing his education, Herman became a dedicated electrician within the industrial sector, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him throughout his 30-year career with Coosa Valley Electric Company. A man of many interests, Mr. Moon had a passion for fishing, entertaining, and supporting his favorite sports teams, the Auburn Tigers and the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed all life had to offer and lived life to the fullest while always being "The Life of the Party". His vibrant personality and infectious spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. His kind spirit and jovial nature brightened the lives of all those around him, leaving an enduring legacy that will be treasured for generations to come. As Mr. Moon traveled this journey called life, he took the hand of the former Ms. Beverly Streeter in Holy Matrimony and together they were blessed with a beautiful loving daughter and three adorable grandchildren. He loved his family and enjoyed spending each and every moment of quality time with them. On Monday afternoon, October 1, 2024 God saw it best that Herman Moon found rest when he peacefully answered the Master's call. The pains he suffered are no more as he sits pain-free among the angels and at the feet of the Lord. Herman is now at the beginning of permanent reign with the Lord in a new heavenly home. He had fought a good fight; he finished his earthly course and now God has prepared for him a crown of righteousness which he will give to him on that Day, and not to him only but also to all who have loved His appearing. Herman was preceded in death by his father, Herman Moon. Loving memories will forever be cherished and remembered by his loving and devoted wife, Beverly Moon; daughter, Jhermara (Fratavis Fomby) Moon; his mother, Betty Moon; brother, Brian (Lucresha) Moon; three grandchildren, Vincent Okoro, Cashtyn Davis, and Bailei Moon; two special nieces, Janelle Moon and Abbigail Moon; two special sisters, Carolyn Streeter and Dorothy Streeter; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary soul, let us remember Mr. Herman Darryl Moon, his laughter, and his everlasting impact on our hearts. While his physical presence may no longer grace this earth, Moon Dog's spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace, his legacy forever etched in our memories.
