Mrs. Georgia Nell Richardson

Mrs. Georgia Richardson was born to the union of Nellie White Garrett and Tenzie Lee Garrett on March 5, 1948 in Talladega, Alabama. Georgia Nell accepted Christ at an early age and united with Lily Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was a faithful servant while working in his vineyard. She had a talent and passion for sewing. With this talent, she became employed by Palm Beach and worked as a seamstress for many years. As she traveled this earthly journey, she found love and companionship in Mr. Melvin Richardson. On March 30, 1970, she and Melvin were united in Holy Matrimony and to this union came a blessing of four loving children. Georgia Nell was the true definition of a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved her family unconditionally and was always willing to give you one of her beautiful smiles if you needed one to brighten your day. Not only did Georgia Nell have a passion for sewing, she also had a hand and eye for interior decorating and loved to shop. On September 26, 2022, after 74 blessed earthly years, God called for his servant, Mrs. Georgia Nell Garrett Richardson to take rest as she transitioned to her eternal home while surrounded by her children and grandchildren in the comfort of her home. Once reaching those pearly gates, she was reunited with her husband, Melvin Richardson, Sr., parents, Tenzie Lee Garrett and Nellie B. Garrett, sisters, Kathy White and Cynthia Garrett, brother, William Garrett, nephew, Demetrius White, and special uncle, Sam White. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, two daughters, Sylvia Garrett and Melody (Jerry) Best; two sons, Anthony Richardson of Talladega, AL and Melvin Richardson, Jr. of Anniston, AL; seven grandchildren, Paris, Corey, Cheyenne, Mahogany, Asia, Jeremy, and Josh; two great-grandchildren, Arianna and Reece; five brothers, Willie Joe White, Samuel (Ella) White, and Bruce (LaShunda) Garrett, all of Talladega, AL, Charles (Mary) Garrett of Omaha, Nebraska, and Stanley Garrett of Trussville, AL; five sisters, Helen Carter of Columbia, TN, Netherland Garrett Cass, Annette (Eric) Coleman, and Paula Garrett Davis, all of Talladega, and Myrtis (Leon) Mebane of Jacksonville, AL; sister-in-law, Bertha Garrett of Detroit, MI; and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
