Frederick Weatherspoon

Born on January 16, 1970, he was a son cherished by many, including his parents, Mittie McClurkin Weatherspoon and Clarence Weatherspoon. Frederick lovingly lit up the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him with his radiant smile and infectious joy. At an early age, Frederick confessed Christ and joined the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He received his formal education in the Talladega County School System where he attended Talladega County Training School. Frederick soon joined the workforce and became a dedicated employee in the poultry industry as a stacker with Koch Foods for over 37 years exemplifying steadfast commitment and unwavering work ethic. When it came to working, he was definitely going to make every minute count as he worked for the weekend. Frederick will always be loved and missed immensely by his community, family, friends and all the hearts he has touched throughout his 55-year earthly journey. Frederick's spirit was as vibrant as his personality. His love for dancing, socializing, and entertaining ensured that every gathering was filled with laughter and joy. Known for his easygoing nature, he never met a stranger, welcoming all with open arms and a playful heart. Frederick leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and friendship that will be celebrated and cherished by his family, friends, and community. On the evening of Friday, August 1, 2025, while under the care of Brookwood Baptist Health in Birmingham, Alabama, Frederick Weatherspoon peacefully transitioned from this walk of life to his eternal home joining his parents Clarence Weatherspoon and Mittie Garrett, sisters, Joyce Mitchell, Quinzella Twyman, Priscilla Lawson, Denise Lawson, Maretta Wilson, and Terri Ann Wilson, and brothers, James Bradford, Jr., Michael Weatherspoon, and Jerome Lawson. Frederick's profound impact will resonate through the lives he has touched. He is lovingly survived by his devoted sisters,Teresa (Billy) Garrett of Alpine, Alabama, Melvin Ann Kelly of Alpine, Alabama, Ollie Pearl (David) Wells of Alpine, Alabama, Brenda (John) Calhoun of Alpine, Alabama, and Janet (Michael) Zampelli of Lincoln, Alabama; brothers, Tensey (Sallie) Lawson of New York, Lee Otis (Mary) Lawson, Jr. of Talladega, Alabama, Bruce Wilson of Talladega, Alabama, and Juan (Gloria) Wilson of Talladega, Alabama; special niece, Shanna Weatherspoon; special friend, Billy Powell; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and countless friends who will carry forth his memory with love and admiration. Frederick will continue to dance in our memories, guiding us with his spirit and the warmth of his heart.
