Felicia Stockdale

Born on May 27, 1960, in Talladega, Alabama, Felicia Stockdale was the cherished daughter of William Sanford and Emma Joyce Williams Sanford, who welcomed her into the world with love and hope. Felicia's life was a melody of joy, faith, and education. From a young age, she embraced her spiritual home at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, sharing her angelic voice in the choir. Her passion for singing and education illuminated her life, as she pursued knowledge through Talladega County Training School and later earned an associate degree. This dedication to learning led her to a fulfilling career as a substitute teacher, where she touched the lives of countless students in the community. An outgoing spirit, Felicia was a beacon of light and laughter, dressed impeccably and always prepared to dazzle. Known for her candid nature, she captivated friends and family alike, often becoming the center of attention at gatherings. She was always the life of the party. Whether shopping, traveling, or indulging in a visit to the nail salon, Felicia embraced life with an infectious enthusiasm. She was a true fashion queen who will be immensely missed. On Friday, December 27, 2024, Mrs. Felicia Stockdale joyously traded labor for eternal rest reuniting with her beloved parents, William and Emma Sanford, and her siblings in a place free of sorrow. Her legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of those she leaves behind including her loving and devoted husband, Raymond Stockdale; son, Belize Stockdale; two beloved daughters, Toi Stockdale and China Stockdale; seven grandchildren, Isiah Stockdale, Zyre Stockdale, Paris Stockdale, Unique Stockdale, My Stockdale, Journey Stockdale, and Alijah Chatman; three great-grandchildren, Calveon Stockdale, Ivee Stockdale, Imree Stockdale; two brothers-in-law, Hilton (Rebecca) Stockdale and William (Joann) Stockdale; three sisters-in-law, Marcella (Steven) Curry, Loretta Garrett, and Glenise Stockdale; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who were all touched by her vibrant spirit. As we gather to bid farewell to Mrs. Felicia Stockdale, let us hold onto the memories of her laughter, her love, her sweet voice, and the light she brought into our lives.
