Born on May 6, 1941, in Talladega, Alabama, to the union of Claude and Lucille Curry Benjamin, Clarence was a source of warmth and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, bright smile, and unwavering kindness.Clarence embraced life with a love that resonated through every role he fulfilled-from devoted husband to loving father, and a caring friend. He navigated his educational journey through the Talladega County School System, and although he did not obtain a diploma, he thrived in hands-on learning through his work in the construction industry. Notably, he operated his own taxi service, ferrying passengers with a friendly demeanor and a welcoming heart, fostering connections that transcended mere transactions.An ardent outdoorsman, Clarence found peace and happiness in nature, and he cherished watching his beloved Atlanta Braves and the classic rivalry of Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers. Family gatherings were filled with laughter and camaraderie, as Clarence immersed himself in the joyful moments that life bestowed upon him.Mr. Clarence Benjamin, who left this earthly realm on August 24, 2025, while resting at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama is now in the embrace of loved ones. He is reunited with his cherished parents, Claude and Lucille Benjamin, as well as his siblings, Jerry Benjamin, George Benjamin, Joseph Benjamin, Claudia Cannon, Billie Ruth Benjamin, Willie Mildred Benjamin Grant, Ora Dee Benjamin, and Barbara (Jean) Alma Benjamin Berry. Clarence's legacy continues through his wife, Mary White Benjamin; daughters, Glenda Benjamin, Cathy (Walter) Embry, and Michelle (Dennis) Garrett; sisters, Josie Benjamin, Wendell Swain, Pearlie Benjamin Tanner, Vista Benjamin; bonus son, Anthony White, Jr.; bonus daughter, Andrea Thomas; brother, Truman Benjamin; alongside his four grandchildren Corian Benjamin, Christopher Strown, Sueshaela Benjamin, and Micah Embry; great-grandchild, Onyx McKenzie; bonus grandchildren, Marquesha Thomas, Marques Thomas, and DeAndre Thomas; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will honor his memory.Clarence's passing echoes a profound loss in the hearts of all who knew him, but his gentle spirit will remain a guiding light for those he has left behind.
