Carrie Swain

Mrs. Carrie Lee Keith Swain was born December 22, 1940, to the union of Jim Richmond Keith and Elzora Curry Keith in Talladega County, Alabama. Mrs. Carrie Lee Keith Swain's 83-year life's journey has truly been a blessing to everyone she has encountered beginning with her youth. She was definitely the Webster's Dictionary definition of a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Mrs. Swain accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and united with Antioch Baptist Church where she remained a member until her passing. She received her formal education in the Talladega County School System where she attended Antioch School. Carrie Lee fell in love with her soulmate, Mr. A.D. Swain. They were united in holy matrimony soon after, and to this union they were blessed with nine beautiful children. She soon began her career as a housewife, but it did not take long for her to realize that family was her priority, and she became a domestic engineer nurturing and caring for her family and was well-known pillar in her community. Mrs. Swain was a fun loving, kind-hearted, energetic person who loved cooking and caring for others, especially her grandchildren. She not only assisted with her children and grandchildren, but Mrs. Swain was a mother to her sisters and brothers and many children in the neighborhood. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and nothing interfered with her spending time with her four blessed generations of LOVE. On the morning of Wednesday, July 31, 2024, after God had graciously blessed and given Mrs. Carrie Lee Keith Swain to us for eighty-three years, she peacefully accepted her new heavenly wings and boarded the train to glory joining her husband, Mr. A.D. Swain, parents, Jim and Elzora Keith, son, Bobby Jim Swain, brothers, Jimmy Lee (Betty) Keith, James (Lillie) Keith, and Willie Keith, sister, Annette Whiteside, sons-in-law, Nelson Moten and Jerome Garrett, and brothers-in-law, John Henry Jones and Samuel Jones.. Leaving behind to cherish the legacy many years of Mrs. Carrie Swain's loving memories are her four sons, Tommy (Beverly) Swain, Joe Tom (Jacqueline) Swain, Steve Allen (Jacqueline) Swain, and Daniel Lamar (LaTisha) Swain; four daughters, Linda Faye Moten, Adrian Chapman, Anita Swain Williams, and Karen Swain; six sisters, Mildred Johnson, Mannie Jones, Nettie Jones, Emma Williams, Annie (Jerome) Jackson, and Mae Lena Keith Stockdale; twenty grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren plus a blessed soul whose arrival is on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and other friends. Although a pillar of the community has gone before us, Mrs. Carrie Lee Keith Swain left a legacy, and she will truly be missed but remembered by all the lives she has touched.
