Belinda Richardson

On April 28, 1949 in Talladega, Alabama, a beautiful and sweet bubbly baby girl named Belinda Duncan was born to the parentage of the late Flora Mae Duncan and Sylvester Groce, Sr. Belinda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and remained a faithful member until her passing. She received her formal education in the Talladega County School System where she attended Ophelia S. Hill High School. Upon completing her formal education, Belinda began her working career at AIDB before becoming gainfully employed at Georgia Pacific where she later retired after over 25 years of being a devoted and dedicated employee. She made the decision to retire to better enjoy the fruits of her labor and to make enjoying life a priority. Affectionately known by all her family, friends, and community as "Ms. Mammy", loving on her family was her passion in life. She enjoyed baking and cooking, but if you turned on a little music, Belinda would show you the true definition of dancing. Belinda never met a stranger and because of her beautiful smile and contagious personality, Belinda was so easy to love. She was a soft spoken, yet fun-loving and kind-hearted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and aunt that was cherished immensely by her family and all who knew and loved her. Along Belinda's life journey, she met and married her soulmate and the love of her life, Mr. George Richardson and to this union came the blessing of three children, Maurice, Cordelia, and Kelia. Although she treated everyone like family, her children and grandchildren were her most prized possession. She always loved, provided, and cared for her family without hesitance. The lovely Mrs. Belinda Duncan Richardson gained her heavenly wings and peacefully accepted her Master's call Thursday, May 18, 2023 at the age of 74, while under the care of Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Preceding Belinda in death are her daughter, Camelia Duncan, son, Maurice Duncan, parents, Flora Mae Duncan and Sylvester Groce, Sr., son-in-law, Gerald Jordan, and sister-in-law, Nellie Jordan. Belinda's legacy of love and her sweet spirit will live on and forever be cherished and remembered by her devoted husband Mr. George Richardson; two daughters, Cordelia Jordan and Kelia Richardson; three brothers, David Duncan, Sylvester Groce, Jr., and Richard Rogers; eight sisters, Mary (Johnny) Jackson, Helen Diane (Calvin) Barclay, Sharon Duncan, Gwennette Duncan, Jacqueline Elaine Groe, Shannon Denson, Gloria Truss, and Angela Groce; three grandchildren, Cornelius Jordan, Daylan Beck, and Maurice Duncan, Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Ava Duncan, Aniyah Duncan, Raelyn Groce, Journee Jordan, Kaeden Groce, and Keisten Brooks; two special friends, Joseph Burt and Levoid Lawler; three sisters-in-law, Betty Alford, Ruby (Larry) Duncan, and Kathy (Andre) Lawson; five brothers-in-law, Samuel Richardson, Frank (Peggy) Richardson, Chester (Selena) Richardson, Floyd (Jeannette) Richardson, and Charlie (Wandalene) Richardson; and a host of other relatives
