Anthony Cross

Born on August 24, 1976, to James Weatherspoon and Lennice Cross in Talladega, Alabama, Anthony's life was a testament to the joy of faith, family, and friendship. From a young age, Anthony embodied a spirit of love and devotion that welcomed the presence of the Lord in his life. He thrived on his experiences in various churches, where he filled the atmosphere with praise and warmth. A graduate of Munford High School, he carried the values instilled in him through his education in the Talladega County School System into every aspect of his life. Anthony's personality was as vibrant as his love for his family. His calm demeanor was punctuated with humor; he had a unique gift for bringing joy to those around him with playful mockery and dance. Not one to shy away from hard work, he found pleasure in caring for yards and exploring junkyards. Yet, nothing delighted him more than gathering around the television for wrestling and classic shows like *Sanford and Son*, where laughter filled the room. As we reflect on the beautiful memories he created during his earthly journey, we celebrate the indelible mark he has left on our hearts. Though he has departed from this world, the love he shared and the joy he spread will continue to resonate among those who knew him. On Sunday, January 12, 2025, Mr. Anthony Cross 48 -year earthly journey was traded for eternal rest while in the care of UAB-St. Vincent's in Pell City, Alabama with his beloved family at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Weatherspoon and Lennice Cross, sister, Donna Cross, uncle, Michael Cross, grandparents, Josephus and Lillian Cross, and aunt, Lorine Strown. Anthony leaves to cherish his loving memories, his loving and devoted sister, LaWanda Cross; nephews, Jamarion Curry and Jakorian Cross; aunts, JoAnn Woods, Mary Caldwell, and Carolyn Patterson; uncles, Larry Cross and Timothy Cross; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends. In this time of remembrance, we invite all those who knew Anthony to gather and reflect on the joyous times spent with him. His spirit will forever live on in our hearts, and we find solace knowing he has found peace in the arms of the Lord.
