Annie Turner

On July 29, 1946, in Talladega, Alabama, Mr. Frank Curry and Mrs. Eva Stokes-Crowfield welcomed to the world a baby girl who was given the name Annie Lee Stokes. At an early age, Annie committed her life to Christ and united with Tinney Street Church of God. She was educated in the Talladega City School System where she attended Eastside High School. Once completing her education, she became gainfully employed in environmental services as a custodian at Graham Elementary School and Zora Ellis Middle School until her retirement. Annie's life changed forever when she met the love of her life, Mr. Samuel Turner. The two were united in Holy Matrimony sharing over 62 years of a blessed marriage and having the gift of three children to their union. Family meant the world to Annie, and she loved her family unconditionally. Annie's unconditional love for her family knew no boundaries. Annie loved cooking and traveling, but most of all she enjoyed her computer games, especially solitaire. Annie held a unique place in the hearts of those who were fortunate to have known her. Her vibrant spirit brought warmth and joy to all she encountered. On the afternoon of April 5, 2024, after 77 blessed years on this earthly journey, God called for his angel, Annie Turner to accept her heavenly wings while in the care of Regional Medical Center surrounded by her beloved family. She was welcomed home by her parents, Frank Curry and Eva Crowfield. Mrs. Annie Turner leaves a legacy of love and fun memories to forever be cherished by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Samuel Ike Turner, Sr.; two loving daughters, Sandra Ella Turner of New York and Regina (Nicholas) Turner of Goodwater, AL; one son, Samuel Ike Turner, Jr.; seven sisters, Adella (Alvin) Stokes of New York, Sharon Crowfield-Biehaime of Winter Haven, Florida, Mary Martin of South Carolina, Ruth (Terry) Duncan of Hamilton, Ohio, Rosie (Clifton) Welch of Munford, AL, and Margie (William) Jackson of Sycamore, AL; one brother, Eugene (Mary Helen) Curry of Munford, Al; eight grandchildren, Carlos Turner, Tiki Turner, Shoneika Turner, Samuel Ike Turner, III, Tandi Turner, and Steven (Averica) Turner all of Talladega, AL, Michael Turner of New York, and Kalence Turner of Sylacauga, AL; best friend, Balinda Webb of Talladega, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.
