Anita Leonard

On February 6, 1960, Anita Lynn Mixon was born to the late Johnny and Minnie Mixon. Anita grew up in a loving home and at an early age was taught Christian values by her parents and grandparents, with whom she attended church as a young girl. Anita, formerly of Munford, Alabama, attended Munford High School. After entering the workforce, Anita worked at Dorsey's Supermarket for more than twenty years. Due to her working environment and contagious personality, she was one of the sweetest and loving individuals that you could meet. She was a pillar of support to anyone she encountered. Her warm smile, infectious laughter and genuine kindness left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to have known her. On July 24, 1999, Jerry Leonard and Anita Mixon were united in Holy Matrimony. Anita was blessed with many talents. She was a great cook who prepared food for her family during the holidays each year. She loved to clean and kept a spotless home on a bad day. She enjoyed nature, loved being outdoors on her porch and took pride in planting flowers in her yard. She had quite the green thumb as so many family members, friends and loved ones always asked for her input or had her assist them in their own yards. On Monday, July 22, 2024, Anita Lynn Leonard answered the Master's call wile in the comfort of her home. Her life, memories and love for her family will always be remembered and cherished by her daughters, Tamika Williams and Takeya Williams of Munford, AL; her grandchildren, Tanitra (Michael) Morgan of McCalla, AL, Taniya Williams of Munford, AL, Tyreke Kite of Birmingham, AL, and Tae'Loir Williams of Munford, AL; her great-grandchildren, Ura Douglas of Munford, AL, Rylee Morgan and Ross Morgan of McCalla, AL; her sister, Jacqueline Todd of Anniston, AL, her brother, John (Stacey) Wynn of Munford, AL; her aunts, Doris (Willis) Ball of Harvey, IL, Mary Jewel Ball of Munford, AL, and Sadie McElrath of Anniston, AL; her mother-in-law, Charlene (Robert) Bass of Eastaboga, AL; her sister-in-law, Twana (Marvin) Moore of Anniston, AL; her brothers-in-law: Eddy (Renita) Leonard of Lincoln, AL and Jeff Leonard of Indianapolis, IN; her nieces, Shankita (William) Tarver of Eastaboga, AL, Johnnetta Mims and Shavera Mims of Munford, AL; great-nieces, Kiana (Marquarius) Eirby, Kenya Stevens, Ariana Stevens of Munford, AL; great-nephew, Anthony Stevens of Munford, AL; adopted son, Junior White of Connecticut and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones and friends that she knew and loved. Anita was preceded in death by her grandparents, JD and Annie Bell Ball, parents, John and Minnie Wynn and Johnny Mixon, her husband, Jerry Lewis Leonard, and her grandson, Terrious "Tae" Williams.
