Alice Jones

Alice Lee Brooks Jones was born on January 31, 1936, in Lincoln, Alabama, to the late Benjamin Brooks and Lola Reynolds Brooks Chatman. Mrs. Jones confessed Christ at an early age when she united with Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church. She served on the usher board and as a member of the choir. Mrs. Jones was educated in the Talladega County School System and attended Cobb High School. After completing her education, she became employed with Regional Medical Center as a technician serving in various departments throughout her many years of employment in the healthcare industry. She later worked various other jobs including, Sam Stewarts Dry Cleaning and Tyson Foods before making retirement a priority in her life. As Mrs. Jones traveled her 85-year earthly journey, along the path she met the love of her life, Mr. Ardis Jones, who soon became her soulmate and husband when they were united in Holy Matrimony. Together they shared over 53 years of a loving and sacred marriage and was blessed with the birth of thirteen beautiful children. She enjoyed quilting and sewing; but working in her flowers, gardening, and spending a little time on the banks fishing was her passion. Mrs. Brooks most favorite hobby was helping and feeding others. It did not matter what time of the day or night you stopped by, if you were hungry, you ate at Mrs. Jones' house. Her food was not only known for feeding the body, but it was also known for feeding the soul. She was very family oriented and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Most of all, Mrs. Jones was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many and will be missed immensely not only by family, but all the lives she has encountered. On Sunday afternoon, November 20, 2022, while under the care of Regional Medical Center surrounded by loved ones, after God had graciously given Mrs. Alice Lee Brooks Jones to us for eighty-five long earthly years, He felt it was time for Him to peacefully close her eyes one last time to this earthly world, accept her new wings and fly to her new eternal home joining her beloved husband, Ardis Jones, two sons, Ardis Chester Jones, Jr. and Anthony Jones, parents, Benjamin Brooks and Lola Brooks Chatman, and brother, R.B. Brooks. She leaves to cherish her loving memories; her six loving daughters, Janice Brooks, Shegonia Watters, Kelley Jones, Presena Jones, Jennifer Jones and Michelle Jones; five sons, Jeffrey Jones, Carlos Jones, Stephen (Judy) Jones, Frederick Jones, and Shaundricka Jones; one sister-in-law, Martha Lanier; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
